This piece is another work that comes with a verse of Scripture attached, as it were. 

The verse in question is from the prophet Isaiah, chapter 52 and verse 2: "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who announce news of joyfulness".

As I am currently living in Texas, a pair of Cowboy boots seemed an appropriate visual "grounding" of this verse, covered with trail dust and red mud, but, as the Scripture puts it, beautiful.  The original title of this piece was simply "Trail Boots", but it got changed as I began to let the "message" of the painting do its work.

Interestingly enough, I wasn't particularly trying for any special "message" with this piece when I painted it.  It just sort of happened.
